Pros

Tons to learn, strong teamwork values, amazing Doctors. Always room for personal growth and helping the community if you can deal with the emotional, physical and mental stress.

Cons

Corporate business owners ruined this hospital. Ethos pushed the hospital into caring more about numbers than people. Now the largest ER specialty hospital in the upstate is in shambles and no longer to function properly for the community due to greed. The hospital director that’s currently leaving after a year of working there is/was a terrible leader with zero experience in veterinary medicine or veterinary management. She only cares about making corporate happy and making her own personal pockets fuller. Employees are now replaceable, irrelevant and honestly worthless other than to have a name to put on a piece of paper for the empty schedule. The company has lost all sense of treating employees like they matter. Upstate Vet doesn’t work for the employees the employees work for UpstateVet. Furthermore the long standing Benefits of working at this facility dwindled down to nothing, Upper management team cares nothing about the staff (actions speak louder than words), your own safety or the safety of the communities pets anymore due to not hiring any new staff since 2023. It’s all about the numbers, the profits and pleasing corporate greed. You can work tirelessly night shifts, holidays away from your family and every single weekend for your patients to never be told you’re doing a good job or your work matters anymore. Management will look you in face when begging for additional staff and tell you that it’s most likely that not lack of employees.. everyone isn’t working efficiently anymore for the company.. the lack of overall ethical and moral standards from upper management are now detrimental to the staff. They gaslight you into thinking that is the best pay you’ll get in the field to keep you there and after finding new employment opportunities I can say this statement isn’t true.
