Pros
The people I worked with at Etsy were amazing. The best managers and coworkers I've ever had were at Etsy and I've gained some incredible friends. Etsy also helped me build up my 401K; I didn't have one before working there. There's lots of room for growth and development and there's really a culture of helping each other climb that corporate ladder.
Cons
It's not the same company it was when I joined years ago. Since the company went public it's become more and more shareholder focused, and less and less member / community / employee focused. They also slowed raises and bonuses way down at just the same time that I became eligible for anything substantial. When leadership banned listings that had the pro-Palestinian slogan, "From the River to the Sea" items, and continued working with Israeli companies I knew it was finally time to go. Values there used to be amazing. They're still better than most companies, but not fantastic. When I left last year, DEI was still pretty strong, at least in hiring... not necessarily in retention.
