Poor leadership - young inexperienced ICs are often promoted into leadership roles for which they are not qualified. Growth is very limited under weak leadership. Poor decision making - decisions take a long time to be made and communication of changes is weak. There is often confusion around proper process or a backpedaling of the decision. Overall, a lack of qualified and competent leaderships has created a culture of “personality hires” that stunts real progress and the growth of hungry, motivated employees. The most toxic environment i’ve ever seen in decades of working corporate. It’s game of thrones level politics behind the scenes. Upper Management is terrible and feeds into it all.
