Pros

E|N has amazing venues to work in. Usually get free admission or discounted tickets to other venues with e|n stores. Great communication with the purchasing team, buyers actually respect your opinion. Team members are great to work with. PTO accumulates at a good rate for FT employees.

Cons

The company pushes a GUSTO environment but doesn't act on it. They want us to reward staff but don't give us enough money to do it, paid a lot of pocket. My VP was cold and unfriendly to most if they stood up against her. Cares VERY LITTLE about the state of the employees (mentally). ABSOLUTELY NO GROWTH OPPORTUNITY UNLESS YOU MOVE TO ANOTHER STATE. The company wastes money on drug tests the venue doesn't require. They pay for directors to relocate and spend thousands while ignoring the bench strength of employees in that region . They ask us to train new employees but don't offer them FT status because they are too cheap to actually offer health care and benefits to them. Lots of hours cut due to the 28 hour rule for PT. EVERYTHING IS MADE IN CHINA AND SOLD AT A RIDICULOUS INCREASE. HR DEPARTMENT WILL TALK BEHIND YOUR BACK ABOUT YOUR CONCERNS WITHOUT ACTUALLY HELPING YOU.

Pros

Free breakfast at the SSC Health and dental benefits Central San Diego location Pet friendly workplace.

Cons

I used to love working here and I loved the company. I felt that I worked for a company that cared for its people. Now it's all an obsession about numbers. The heart of this company is its people and that has been forgotten. Larry has abandoned the home office and turned a blind eye to what is going on. Everything is a big show of how awesome everything is, but it's all a facade. Reading through the other reviews, I'm glad to know I'm not the only person who feels this way. The managers, or people of authority, at the SSC are there because they were someone's favorite. It's difficult to respect someone above you if you don't respect how they got there. The bigger this company gets the worse it has been to work for and the more money the company makes, the less we make. Raises are percentages of percentages and bonuses went from amazing to non existent. Everything is about the company making more money or saving more money. I just came from the yearly company conference where they suggested the managers send someone home 15 minutes early every day at our stores. "Doing this will save the company exactly this much money in a year." they said. How about limiting employee turnover to save money? No one mentioned that. Our motto is "for purpose". Maybe it's time to reevaluate what that purpose really is.
