      Pros

      *Meridian Village* Great benefits, wonderful facility, knowledgeable and dedicated medical staff (from a clinical standpoint and an administrative angle). The administrative staff really got to know the residents individually, so any issues were resolved with knowledge of the resident in mind, rather than just blindly taking action. Money/Profit is an issue, of course, but not so much that it impedes care. This place doesn't cut corners, and the abuse reporting/investigating procedures are top-notch. Training is great for most positions. I've worked at companies where everyone is a nervous wreck when corporate comes around, because the upper management is out of touch, rash, and blindly making decisions that negatively affect the employees as well as the care provided. This wasn't the experience I had at LSS. Their home office staff is typically very helpful and well-informed. I wouldn't want to work at any LTC facility where I wouldn't be comfortable bringing my own loved ones, and this place was truly the best around.

      Cons

      There was a little drama between departments and certain employees, but no more than you would expect in this field, and it was dealt with accordingly before it affected any resident care. Pay is not the greatest, but the atmosphere is worth it. There's diversity among the staff, but I wasn't a huge fan of how little diversity there was among residents. However, I think that may have been specific to the location I worked at.

      Nice place to work

      Pros

      I have been a CNA here for four years while attending school. I have really enjoyed being a part of the team. My house coordinator always works well with us and listens to our ideas. The residents are well taken care of.

      Cons

      Some recent budget cuts put too much stress on the kitchens, I wish they would go back to having cooks for each household.

Your concerns are something that we take to heart. We have made some changes in our neighborhoods based on the feedback we received from other staff members, residents, and resident family members.
