Pros

This is my first contracting job so I really have nothing to compare Apex Systems to. I think in the beginning when gathering information of employment and all of the necessary documents I needed to get started, my point of contact at Apex was very thorough.

Cons

Not the best benefits for women. I was barely pregnant when I first started and didn't qualify for short term disability/maternity leave because my pregnancy was a "pre-existing condition." I think in 2022 we know how horrible maternity leave is for families in the US. They need to step it up. Also, I had to get a letter from OB to prove that I was pregnant when I went on leave. I guess people fake being pregnant lol. Anyway, luckily my male partner makes just enough for us to survive. I really don't know how a single parent or a family without a decent salary that needs maternity leave would survive contracting for this company. Also, no one ever informs me of when my contract is ending or being extended.

Pros

-Entry level job with 3 months training. Easy to grasp software. -This is a low compensation job, however low expectation and low responsibility from management. -“First time” professional job that will open doors to those “3-5 year experience roles.”

Cons

-Low pay (i made $25 in 2019-2021 2nd contract). This is roomate wages in San Jose or California (if they still are doing in state remote) -High turn over of coworkers because low pay contract work. -No benefits. -You will never be hired full time. Set your expectations accordingly that this is a low stress butts in seats role. The best will never get recognition, the slackers will never get in trouble. (That was fine with me). Get experience, move on.
