Pros

Well respected regionally accredited university with solid compliance, policies and processes. Quality facilities, faculty, and programs that focus on niche programs underserved by public higher ed. Financially sound and not going anywhere.

Cons

Systems are set up for middle management to fall short consistently and never meet expectations. Expectations for work to be done are inhibited by the ridiculous requirement for 4 hours of talk time/day. This way they always have something to scold you on in one-on-ones.

Dear Reviewer who states they are a “Former VP in Boca,” There have been no changes in Vice Presidents at the Boca Raton Campus so we do not believe this review is credible. Furthermore, at Everglades University, providing excellent customer service to our students is a priority. We have a 24-hour response time policy to ensure all current and future students are receiving prompt replies and support from all departments and our faculty. Our Admissions Department also strives to provide prompt contact to prospective students so we may service them as effectively as possible. Admissions Counselors are required to spend at least half their day working with our prospective students, sounds fair right? All expectations are discussed during the interview, onboarding, and training processes so team members are prepared and excited to be a vital part of the student experience. We are sorry you are not aligned with this culture. But we wish you well in your next endeavor.

The ability to connect with students is a draw for many. Unfortunately the university is run like a boiler room call center so the time to connect with each student is limited.

Cons

During my time at everglades, the president of the university never made a visit to our department despite only working a floor below us. We were warned when it was thought she may visit. That thankfully never happened. Rather than inspire staff she lead through fear. The experience of a stranger should always be questioned for legitimacy. I challenge you to visit the Yelp page for Everglades, there you will see the president’s main priority. You’ll also get a glimpse into the way she communicates to management here. This style of toxic leadership trickles down to those in each department. Please educate yourself.

Dear Stranger, The legitimacy of a review should also be questioned if the employee may have been terminated for cause. Your campus managers took action they felt appropriate we are sorry you are upset and placing the blame with someone you state you never met. Highly focused on results at the expense of the student and employee experience. This focus is centered on short term gains and for goes the establishing long term beneficial outcomes and growth. Hence why there is such high turn over.

Due to having new classes nearly every month of the year, it’s understandable that we are focused on achieving each monthly goal. However, achieving each of these monthly goals has resulted in Everglades University to have tremendous long term growth year after year and our graduates being prepared for their careers!
