Pros

As a former teacher, I had the opportunity to join Everspring in 2016 and it was the perfect place to transition into edtech! I started in a student supporting role for a few years, and later really wanted to get into account management. I was given the opportunity to transition into a client facing role, and was able to dip my toe into various departments and learn a little bit of marketing, technology, and learning design. The advantage of working in a mid-size company is that everyone knows each other, your hard work gets rewarded and recognized, and there is ample opportunities to grow and test out other roles. The leadership team shares company goals, performance, industry trends, and gives shout outs to employees who are celebrating their work anniversaries or promotions. It's easy to be an "Everspring Lifer" here if you're passionate about education and when your coworkers become your friends.

Cons

As with smaller companies goes, there is room for improvement on benefits. Within the last few years, leadership has been asking questions on what matters to their employees. They listened, and added a 401 k match, LinkedIn Learning subscription, subsidized gym membership in the office, and more flexibility on remote work. Adding maternity leave and education reimbursement would be a great next step.

Pros

- Most coworkers are good people. - 100% remote position.

Cons

- Managers are shady and will say one thing, but do something else. - Higher management keep employees in the dark. - Very numbers driven and you will get degraded if you are not hitting your expected metrics. - In the initial interviews, you will be promised that you will be "changing lives." In reality, your manager will push you to get students to apply if they are not qualified or the program is not what they are looking for. - Managers do not know how to manage people and will often talk in circles or be condescending.

It is unfortunate that you were dissatisfied with your time at Everspring. We take pride in delivering a great admissions experience on behalf of our university partners and we regularly receive outstanding reviews from prospects and students whose lives were changed positively by enrolling in an Everspring-supported program. To ensure that all of our prospects and partners have a consistently excellent experience, we have a rigorous training and leadership development program and consistent management oversight; it sounds like these did not meet your expectations. If you would like to share more about your personal experience, please contact me or get in touch with HR directly (hr@everspringpartners.com) so that we can learn more.

Pros

I don't know that any job or employer is perfect, but Everspring comes as close as I think any can. There are many things I could list for positives: swanky office, fun outings, or the fact that you have opportunities to engage with the founders of the company. What I love most about Everspring, though, is that everyone in leadership—from my direct reports up to the CEO and President—have demonstrated they value me as a person and not just a worker. Unlike at so many other jobs, I have never once felt that decisions were being made or that things were being asked of me that prioritized the bottom line over my wellbeing. In my experience with my team, the value placed on the employee as a person and not just a worker also means that mistakes aren’t treated punitively. Instead they are opportunities to learn, grow, and do better. My direct reports also value my overall goals for professional development and career growth and have worked with me to find ways that I can achieve those goals.

Cons

There could be better collaboration efforts made between certain departments. There are times the lack of that does make it feel that my team and what we need help with are at the very bottom of the priority list. Other times, it can feel like you are just metaphorically shouting into the void. But anyone who has worked very long in education has probably encountered both of those things. They are not unique to Everspring in my experience, but rather a byproduct of much larger issues that plague educational services across the spectrum.
