Pros

Growth, decent pay scale, never furloughed, 401 with company contribution, owned by a pilot, not a bank or investor group, insurance for the individual is heavily subsidized by the company BC/BS with dental and eye. Four week bid period/60 hours/seasonal overtime opportunities. All senior ops management are current pilots, not disconnected from the real world. Open door management-chief pilots, dir of ops and owner are accessible. Look at the seniority list. Good people don't stay around 15, 20 or more years because it us a bad place!

Cons

DC-6 upgrade to PIC is difficult, little attrition in the PIC ranks. Family health coverage is expensive - BC/BS with dental and eye care

Pros

Rob Everts, the CEO is an awesome boss who truely cares for his employees and will go out of his way to take care of you and your family. This company does not fire people unless they do something extreme. I have been working here for over 5 years now and have not seen them fire a single person. They fly really great old airplanes such as DC-6's and C-46's. Great way to get experience in a very unique flying environment.

Cons

Most of the Middle management is awful. A lot of them are the owner's family or close personal friends who are sub-par at their jobs. The director of IT and the Cargo manager are the best examples, both are daughters of the founder and neither know the first thing about the job entrusted to them. The director of operations is the most difficult boss I have ever dealt with. He seems to find it impossible to speak to anyone in a normal tone of voice and takes the old "dictator" approach to overseeing his department. He is a pilot but doesn't know the first thing about how to dispatch, yet the department falls under him. You will have to choose between doing your job correctly and getting screamed at by this man almost every day you go to work. All this combined makes a very hostile work environment
