Pros

Supportive coworkers…interesting line of work. Okay salary, overtime guaranteed if needed.

Cons

Very strict, can be exhausting especially overnights. At times could deal with changes and break pushbacks mid shift. Feels like nothing is really planned ahead of time and is done on a whim. Prone to being understaffed overnight and leads to burnout quickly especially during holidays. Strict when it comes to your mistakes, but not their own, for example I was relieved 15 minutes into a 30 minute break, and informed there wasn’t anything they could do about it nor could I get my full 30 at that time and was expected to come back after 15 minutes passed and wait for my next break, yet when I arrived 5 minutes late from a break for the bathroom, I was written up. Disorganized. Don’t recommend overnight unless it’s your cup of tea.

Communicating with anyone in management or HR is a nightmare. Nobody gives a straight answer, nobody responds to phone calls or emails, and everybody avoids accountability. After working there I see why that is, they hire into management in 2-3 months based on favoritism, not performance. What you end up with is clueless supervisors and internal politics with managers retaliating against game performers. Out of the year I’ve worked there, 15 different pit bosses. The breaks are inconsistent , They say you get 4 thirty minute breaks multiple times during on-boarding, when in reality you will be lucky to see 2. Most of the time, you will be late to those 2 because of your coworkers. Also, don’t expect management to help you in the slightest. If anything, they will change your schedule last minute to make you late, then question you like it’s your fault. Doesn’t matter if you have a disability or you’re pregnant - they have no accommodations. Turn over is insane. Always just smells awful in the lobby. AC works in half the studios… half the time. They put water in the soap dispenser to stretch it, never any paper towels in the bathrooms. Dirty, destroyed tables. They have lockers, but will actually throw your stuff out whenever they see fit with their typical “random” locker cleanings. They let people leave early all the time and it just creates stress for the people still at the job. MCR colludes with game presenters to make thousands on the back end. Supervisors will say you have 3 mistakes for the month, but when you check your profile, there will be 3 videos of completely different people messing up under your name (and you better hope you catch it because they definitely won’t). The company dishes out points for everything and anything. Have your arms crossed? Point. Forgot your badge one day? Point. Have your eyes closed for more than 4 seconds? Point. Itch your hand on the table? Point. They’ll literally give you a point saying you called off when you were at work that day. They’ll suspend you without pay for an “investigation”, then pop up days later saying you can come back to work with no explanation. They’ll say it was a “gaming license” issue but will not respond to any further questions. They go on these sprees where they fire a 100 people, then open 200 tables and say they’re understaffed and work everybody on the tables twice as much. No raises, just a 50¢ increase after a year. Tips are very inconsistent. Contract under negotiation your salaries cannot change is what we were told. Come to find out even after union contracts were signed, there was still no increase in pay. Yeah you can get an end of month bonus now, but will they help you achieve that goal? No, they will purposely sabotage your bonus if they dislike you by putting you on tables where equipment is faulty so you make mistakes. Evaluations are just bs, being marked down for incorrect uniform size and looking “bored” No raise into management, just extra work for the same pay. I could go on but I don’t think I can type that much in a review
