Pros

You a few hard working students that appreciate the feedback, implement the corrections, and actually want to improve themselves.

Cons

The majority of the students are in the military and veterans. Some of the students that are higher-ranking non-commissioned officers think that because they are masters of their universe in the military, that entitles them to be disrespectful to instructors and to disregard following assignment directions. Also, the increased grading requirements of additional assignments and the laborious feedback process is too much. This is a part-time job, not a full-time. If you want to full-time effort and work, pony up the money and benefits. Excelsior College is more concerned about generating revenue from students in the military and veterans. I get that both are great sources for revenue. However, you sacrificed your academic integrity. The New York State Regents should review your accreditation to determine if the almighty dollar has not clouded the institutional academic integrity.

Pros

Good people/staff overall. Generous PTO and a decent retirement package.

Cons

Healthcare copayments have almost doubled. IE it was 30$ for most of my Drs, and it's now 50$. The university recently underwent a reorganization which left many people either out of work or demoted in pay. And during the entire transition, the leadership tried to act as though everything was moving in a good and positive direction. At the same time, morale in the two new colleges is at an all-time low. There are also talks of partnering/merging with other schools/colleges, but they are unable/willing to share exactly what that means for those currently employed at the university. I would steer clear unless you literally have no other options.

Pros

Many of the staff are dedicated to the mission of the college and hard-working. They are supportive and a pleasure to work with.

Cons

Leadership has been and continues to be morally and managerially corrupt and bankrupt . There is no real diversity of opinion or of people which is bringing the college further down in a climate of complete mismanagement, misguidance, and mistrust. I fear daily for my job as do all of my colleagues. The situation is unbearable and only getting worse. The outlook is bleak . There is no one to trust in leadership . Everything has changed but the leadership.
