Pros

Safety of employees is first and foremost. Great compensation. Good work/life balance. Continued training/improvement is very beneficial. Employees are recognized for hard work.

Cons

Closure of some nuclear plants in the US is a source of stress. Many people at the site I work at (Nine Mile Point) have worked here for a long time and can struggle explaining things to people who are new to the industry.

Pros

Great benefits package and off-site cooperate training opportunities

Cons

Communication from management is minimal at best, the delegation and follow-through of projects lack focus and organization. Complaints and obvious problems are ignored creating low morale and the loss of good employees to other groups or new companies. The company comes up short with minority employee numbers, while the mass majority remains of the Caucasian race. As an Asian/Indian the discrimination has been shown through being passed over for promotions and positions to less experienced and educated colleagues... It is an obvious perception at my workplace that the Indian in the room is really smart, is a very hard worker - BUT, is probably a better sort of technical or behind-the-scenes thinker and not leader. When approaching management of these issues, the fact that I have an accent is given as their reasoning...because, obviously having an accent would effect my social skills or elevated technical skills developed through past experience and a Masters Degree earned at a highly esteemed American University!?!?!?
