      Senior Engineer in the Mid Atlantic

      Pros

      Terrific company to learn, grow, and develop. With experience in fossil power plants, as well as with other engineering firms, and Exelon far exceeds others in the area with regards to compensation and available opportunities.

      Cons

      Nuclear power is a 24 hour a day business so standard work hours do not always apply. Work-life balance can be an issue, but only if you allow it to be.

      CHALLENGING BUT REWARDING

      Pros

      Exelon has diverse work force with tons of carrier opportunities. Exelon is directly involved with ground breaking industry technology and innovation. Exelon also offers a good work environment.

      Cons

      Work hours may vary depending on emergent issues. Compensation could be a little better.

      Great development opportunities

      Pros

      Exelon encourages their employees to take on other roles in the company, allowing for personal development and they invest in employee development training. Exelon paid for my MBA which is a huge benefit. Other benefits are good as well with generous vacation, 401k, pension, and bonuses. Leadership cares about the safety of their employees and makes it the #1 priority.

      Cons

      A large portion of Exelon is 24x7 and you know this going in, but it is sometimes hard for your family and friends to understand when working nights, weekends, or holidays. This is offset with a generous vacation policy.
