Pros

Very polite and supportive culture, the Northwest culture shines through, especially in the US.

Cons

Leadership at the top levels has been very fluid, driving significant change in all dimensions for the past few years.

Pros

Can be a very collaborative environment Open to rotations and cross-org contributions Marketplace approach to ideas & tools (can be a pro or a con, depending) Beautiful campus (though also a con given the commuting challenges of its location)

Cons

Constant organizational churn at executive level Inconsistent management and culture across divisions/orgs Lack of clear strategy for many orgs Lack of accountability which can lead to contentious x-org relationships and often toxic competitive behavior Penalizes tenure, vs rewarding. Many peers have left in order to make progress. Seattle area "little brother" syndrome, constantly wanting to be associated with companies like MSFT, AMZN, etc. This led to the campus purchase, in a less than ideal commuting location. A decision which, even without COVID, flew in the face of data such as 70% of local employees residing on the east side.
