Pros

If you fit in with the incredibly conservative company culture, you can scrape by here for your entire career without putting in any real effort.

Cons

I'm going to focus on the fact that when I worked there, I was informed that I was required by management to remove the LGBTQ+ pride flags from my desk. After months of arguing with leadership and HR about it, I left after receiving a completely empty "apology" that amounted to "we're sorry if our discriminatory actions offended you." There's also the fact that my pay was at least $20k below market value, but I'm honestly more chapped about the discrimination.

Pros

- Good health Benefits - No Lay-offs - Awesome co-workers

Cons

- You will work in a cubicle - Technology and systems are some of the worst in the industry - Pay is extremely low and lower than competitors(this is how they don't lay anyone off) - Work from home is 26 days per year but the managers create an environment that they don't want you to use them - They still believe in wearing a suit and tie to sit in a cubicle and answer emails and take virtual calls - The workload and shipment count per employee is very high and every employee is overloaded with more work than is possible without working on your personal time - You won't make decent pay until you're in upper management which will be 7-10 years in unless they're desperate to hire. - The top performers get better pay anywhere else and leave. - No work life balance

Pros

Big company with a lot of growth opportunities if that's what you want in a career. They promote from within but try not to hire a lot as they want to be as lean as possible so you might be doing multiple jobs at a lower salary than one person they hire just to do thst job. Fair compensation depending on your roll.

Cons

Starting salary for new hires is much lower than the average for other Freight Forwarders in Charlotte. They also have a hard time inceasing salaries for employees if well deserved and earned. Open door policy, which is a big deal for the company is a joke. Management has office doors closed and makes employees feel they cannot come talk to them about ideas or issues they are having. When you do meet with management they will entertain and listen but do not follow through with promises. After cyber attack, company instead of paying for the cost of recovery with revenue or even as an expense to the branches they decided based off head count of employees, for the next 3 months take a % of each districts bonus pool to pay for it. That means the monthly performance bonuses that was rightfully earned by employees was either a lot lower than it should have been or some employees did not get their bonus at all those 3 month. Basically it took food from mine and every Expeditors families table while our C level folks in Seattle where still making Millions in salaries. System restrictions in place after cyber attack are ridiculous. Too many passwords or Auth codes and you can tell the company is scared of another possible attack. When I was at Expeditors I asked many times to go into management tranee program and other places and was ultimately placed where management needed my skill set so again, does not listen to employees. They allow you 26 wfh days a year which must be submitted and pre-approved 2 weeks before you plan on working from home.
