Pros

In offices in Switzerland for a lot of employees coming from abroad, Experis is a way to get started in the Swiss job market. If you want, you can learn a lot from some of the more senior people (especially when it comes to tricking candidates into jobs they don't want, or sell to employers the candidates they don't want). However, some of the people are really doing a decent joband can help you learn the ropes of recruitment. A couple of people (often they stick together throughout the years after leaving Experis) are absolutely great and fun colleagues. There's a high energy in the offices and are lot of going out. Somehow there seems to be a great team spirit that everyone is enjoying. However, looks can be deceiving sometimes...

Cons

Their operating model seems to be to attract whatever people to come in at the base level of the organisation (on recruiter-level), and hire them for a minimum salary (of which they say of course it's fair and market conform). Then recruiters are given high sales targets, are paid minimum bonusses and are given irrelevant daily/weekly activity targets to reach (such as daily time on the phone, number of calls made, ...). I've had different HR roles in the past, but I've never done so much meaningless work and I've never been lied to by my superiors that much as in this role at Experis. Of course they'll keep smiling to you and they'll keep saying: "... it was all just a misunderstanding". At the time I was working there as a recruiter, this happened to 90% of my colleagues recruiters. This is one of the reasons why they have a hard time attracting skilled personel, because they rapidly spread a bad image as the recruitment scene in the city is not that big. The roles on consultant-level are slightly better, because they are better paid and recruiters do the operational work for you. Still no one is really committed to the organisation, but only to their commission. This unfortunately is one of the reasons why you constantly have to watch out who to trust.

Pros

They offer great career opportunities as a consultant and you get interesting projects. Flexible management and a good work and life balance.

Cons

Not so much possibilities to impact on career progress. Working internally was much different from working for external clients when it comes to rewarding and personnel perks.
