      Great benefits and salary before Cigna merger.

      Not many written policies and procedures, which makes it difficult for any new employee to learn/train.

      Pros

      Great benefits: starting PTO at 3 weeks (5 weeks after 5 years non-management), inexpensive insurance premiums, 100% x 6% 401k match, ESOP 5% discount on stock up to 10% of salary, good base salary

      Cons

      Work mill, nepotism is how to get fast tracked, as a result poor management, lack of written policies and procedures, lack of communication both between management and staff and also between cross functional departments. If ESI didn’t sell insurance and drugs and it’s success was more dependent on its staff, it wouldn’t be anywhere near the top 25 fortune companies
