      Half legitimate, half shady

      Pros

      Commission is nice, work life balance is good.

      Cons

      Some employees are shady, if you speak up you get in trouble. And was told after my job was threatened to go take a ride in the golf court to clear my head.

      Pros

      Good benefits except for their health plans. Good PTO, 401k, Etc. Decent work life balance except that you work every Saturday and 1 of your 2 days off is based off of someone else's religious preference. Lots of opportunity for advancement early on but that quickly changes after about 2-3 promotions.

      Cons

      Very aggressive consumer practices that will make you question why "integrity" is one of their core values. It is a publicly traded company so this is just how the company operates now. Don't expect to be able to recommend Extra Space to family and friends in good faith once you understand how aggressive they are in using algorithms to raise rates and target customers that don't complain about the increases. Health plans aren't great and will cost you a lot down the line.

      ESS is full of employees willing to work and help others, very nice people and very encouraging.

      Cons

      A con might be that depending on your performance you might get a shift you do not like, but all of that depends 100% on you!
