      Pros

      I have worked at 10 different companies in my lifetime. Extra Space is by far my favorite. The people and overall culture are amazing. My superiors are great and care about me as a person rather than as just an employee. Same goes for lots of other teams I've heard about and observed. It's also a very stable company with promising opportunities for growth in the future.

      Cons

      The benefits are not as great as other companies I've worked for. The current insurance providers are difficult to work with. Cost for the employee is also higher than other places I've worked. Overall the benefits will cover the needs for you and your family, but it might cost more and be more of a headache than other insurance plans.

      Extra Space Storage has been my employer for 11 years. Opportunity to participate in roundtable discussions with CEO and upper management as well as department heads. I have been given all the training, tools, & ongoing coaching and support to get the best results increasing my bonus potential. Rewards me for meeting and exceeding goals set daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly. Opportunity for advancement throughout the company is encouraged and supported. Genuinely cares about me as an employee. Offers employee assistance for health and financial concerns, just to name a few.

      Shift bids every quarter meaning you may have a change of shifts you work every 3 months. Based on seniority and performance

      Pros

      Some of the best reasons to work for ESS is the unity you feel as a company. everyone knows everyone, or you at least know their face. Usually people stay in their office all day, but a lot of senior management regular walks around. Even if they are not looking to talk, it feels nice to have them in your presence. Extra Space is helpful with everything and everyone's needs. If they cant help, they will find other ways to assist.

      Cons

      Some of the cons of working for extra space are not even about the workplace it is more the location of the office building. I had to relocate to be a little closer to the home office. But it was no big deal.
