- 40 hours most weeks - Lots of growth, so lots of new things and positions - Lots of processes are pretty automated, which is good in some ways - Female Controller - Lots of people come back after leaving, so must have something people like

Cons

- Expensive insurance, even with the reduction for having a health assessment - Do not pay extra for having an advanced degree or professional certification - Lots of customer service involved in accounting role - Lots of processes are automated, which is bad in some ways - Acceptance of high turnover rate and no real emphasis on changing things so people will stay

Pros

I've worked for other storage companies, and Extra Space is by far the best! They have good benefits, better pay compared to competitors (making 10k more per year for the same position), and treat the employees like real people. It's a well structured company, and I always know where or who to go to when I have a question or need help. Most stores are closed on Sundays!

Cons

It can be hard to plan things on my days off since the schedule changes so much. We have insufficient coverage so many times you work alone, and it can be hard to get big projects done. Deadlines don't change because of that. Hard to move up in the company. Once you're a manager, there's not much else to do without waiting a LONG time.

The employee retention rate is very poor. Partially due to and environment where value is not recognized, a difficult feeling of trust amongst upper management, a lot of micro managing from the supervisor level, low pay compared to the market, and a high work load,
