Pros

The support from corporate is extremely helpful. They create the tutoring curriculum, training modules for teachers, and they have a lot of resources in place to make tutoring centers run smoothly.

Cons

The quality of the workplace varies depending on who the franchisee is, and how closely they adhere to corporate standards. The culture of the workplace at my boss's centers is very lax. There's no HR department and employee duties seem to be thrown around at random. Cash flow difficulties means that it's hard to get properly compensated.

Pros

•Caring and considerate management, with understanding for employees' needs, including vacations (as a part-time job!) •Engaging work, if you stay there for long enough you get to possibly observe the seeds (knowledge) that you planted grow •Culture and the team are great and everyone works to help each other out

Cons

•While the work can be engaging, it can be hard due to the fact that young kids tend to get distracted a lot--if you don't have a lot of experience instructing kids, it can be frustrating and hard •Grading can get dull if done for all of the periods •The culture is not uniform--while one LC( learning center) location can be superb, another one might not be as good

Extremely disappointed

Pros

Friendly environment with a nice design, not too much stressful work pressure put on you. Pay was reasonable.

Cons

Minimal contact with lots of people since each center has only a few teachers, hard to move up from your position. Terrible response from the manager when I attempted to apply for the job, after being told I had a great interview, it took me 3 weeks to be finally given a response after calling and emailing. In that call, the manager immediately forwarded me to one of her workers who had no idea how to aid me or what I was talking about, and tried to arrange another interview for me. Extremely disappointed. Was told that I would definitely get the job since the other workers were quitting once they graduated.
