Pros

Great working environment, very collaborative and creative culture, lots of opportunity for growth and promotion within the company, both upwards and laterally, strong leadership who are very engaging and involved/reachable by employees, quarterly bonuses, competitive pay, strong focus on employee retention and employee development, many great employee rewards programs (RSUs, paid to bike to work, excellent benefits)

Cons

The new employee on-boarding process could be better. More flexibility for working from home / flexible schedules would be great. Some processes and technology haven't quite caught up with the growth of the company and we seem to just throw another body at it - though it seems there are a lot of initiatives to make improvements. Overall I love everything else about the company and culture!

Pros

In 4 years I received 3 promotions, got RSUs, and yearly salary increases. They sent me on an international all expenses paid trip with my family for doing outstanding work. My time is extremely flexible, and they pay me to ride my bike to work instead of driving. F5 is a company that puts some effort behind their belief that their employees matter, from very flexible about work hours, to pay, to matching 401k contributions, great health coverage, and good salary. Keeping a good work/life balance is not penalized, even implicitly. Promotion from within is very common, and working your way up from the starting position is absolutely achievable.

Cons

Because there are a lot of smart people, sometimes it's hard to get cross-organizational change to happen, as everyone has a good reason for their own agenda.

We have formed a Director Team with Manny Rivelo as the EVP sponsor. One of the top priorities is to develop opportunities for collaboration across functions. If you have any project ideas, please let the Director of your group know so that they can bring it to the team. Thanks for your comments!
