Pros

Pay was compelling, stock grants were appropriate, good mix of achievement and challenge, excellent products and some of the most talented engineers on the planet. Proud of my time there.

Cons

Middle management is aloof, mostly because they weren't brought up with F5. The influx of Cisco execs and management brings lots of talent and know-how, but they lack cultural relevance. Culture is one of the things that made F5 fantastic and it's being eroded. F5 also lacks any kind of formalized employee development program. As a result, good employees are passed over for promotion in favor of politics.

Pros

F5 has an industry recognized name in ADC space. The work environment is great and many great pre-Sales SEs working at F5. Attrition rate is relatively low compared to other high tech companies.

Cons

Lots of growing pains across all functional groups. Don't even know where to start!

Pros

Awesome overall company that understands the employee is the source of success Market leader for application delivery Great group of engineers to collaborate and work with Excellent benefits and perks including beer friday, fully stocked beverage coolers with awesome selection, free coffee tea and hot chocolate

Cons

High stress environment due to understaffed workforce, case load increases yearly Lower management skates by with little to no feedback for the employee Disconnect between field engineers and support which drives the customer to open complicated implementation cases due to lack of sales provided professional services Majority of support engineers work overtime to stay afloat Know it all culture that is routinely condescending to peers and customers due to incompetent customers and support engineers because new features are released multiple times a year but support isn't properly trained to support it
