Middle mgmt, women, benefits

Pros

The benefits are good. You can move around the company if you get bored. Lots of exciting projects.

Cons

Way too many directors that are not very useful. The middle mgmt is out of control. It is normal to be in a meeting with directors and no one able to make a decision. The company has a serious issue with miniorities. Women working the same amount of time as men are not promoted as the same rate. Men are automatically put in mgmt roles without interviews or allowing women to apply. The rate of women in mgmt is pathetic.

Pros

Good pay and benefits, working towards new innovations.

Cons

Middle and Senior Managers don't care about employee retention. Move to outsourcing and offshore contracting ruining an otherwise good comradery among employees. Swapping out senior technical employees for juniors to save pay and reduce benefits. Emphasis from CEO is politically correct buzz words like "diversity" and "globalism" versus keeping quality employees here in America that made the company what it is.

Change is in the air

Pros

Established leader in its segment. Engineering oriented culture. As with any large organization your impressions will vary based on locale and who your boss is. Decent comp package and benefits.

Cons

Established leader in its segment that got complacent. The need to move BIG-IP service offerings into public cloud environment has been readily apparent for some years now. They are a classic example of "The Innovator's Dilemma" - company that is being displaced by underdogs and too complacent to act on it earlier. New CEO is driving change by cutting with a sledge hammer rather than a scalpel. This will most likely result in underperformance of current cash cows. The hope is that new offerings will create value faster than damage being inflicted reduces it.
