We appreciate you taking the time to provide us feedback. Our objective is to be sure our team members are treated fairly and with respect in our environment, and we are sorry that you didn't feel you had that experience during your tenure with us. Health & Safety is a number one priority at FGF and our leadership teams, team members, and our Health & Safety team are all committed and focused in this area. We are glad you worked with a great team, and yes, we do run 12 hour shifts in our plants, however based on the feedback from our engagement surveys many of our team members prefer this schedule. We also offer extensive training and career development; safety shoe programs; benefits; the opportunity to work overtime if desired, and accelerated career growth opportunities. It’s one of the reasons we have such a high retention rate among our team members and something we are very proud of. Thanks again for your review.

Great Company, Great Values

Pros

I found them real kind. I worked as General Labour for a very short period of time in their new factory. They actually listen to their employees and try to understand. They give you chances to prove yourself. The factory is WOW! And so is the payment. My experience with FGF is Superb! Loved working there.

Cons

The factory that I worked for was new, so, obviously everything was taking shapes. The only thing I would point out as 'Con' is absense of proper and timely breaks. Since shifts are long, proper breaks could make them easy on workers. (If you could divide that 1hr break in to 2/3 20mnts breaks in regular intervals or something like that...)

Pros

Decent pay, in comparison to other industrial bakeries. Weekly pay is good.

Cons

Company doesn't care about staff members personal lives. There's no family events, not even a Christmas party. There's no staff morale. Garbage pizza and miniscule bonus when doing overtime on Saturdays.

We appreciate your comment on Glassdoor. For the past 2 years and coming up again in January, FGF hires a third party company who conducts a Team Member engagement survey for us. The purpose of this survey is to better understand what’s important to our team members as we continue to grow. In addition, we have many other opportunities for two way communication through what we call “Let’s Connect” sessions as well as post hire interviews and team huddles (to name a few) It’s through this type of communication that we learn what is most important to our team members, things like, night premiums, weekend premiums, and the opportunity through our job posting program to apply for other opportunities (which really supports our strategy of “home grown” talent). In fact, in the past 2 years we have promoted over 200 team members in our plants, many of these into leadership roles. We also want to point out that although we don’t have a Christmas party (don’t forget, not everyone celebrates Christmas) what we do have to celebrate together is our annual event called “Smackdown”. This is a fun event that promotes team work and highlights the diversity of our team members! This event in addition to our Town Hall meetings several times a year, really help to create an atmosphere of fun and celebration. Of course, we are a food company so everything we do involves food! We are sorry you don’t like the free pizza, however many of our team members tell us how much they appreciate this small token.
