Pros

Remote work, prior to cuts the benefits were great and work was spread equally

Cons

Teams are skeleton crews but programs and leadership expect higher output with more workload placed on team members. There is no transparency with the USG issues and cash flow issues.

Pros

On the surface, this company seems like they care about people all over the world

Cons

In reality, they may care about the rest of the world, but they don't care about their own employees. Inaccurate job description. Management does not interact well with nor care about their employees. They do not follow their own Management training in dealing with other employees. A big group of very over-educated people.

Pros

I have worked for a lot of corporate structured companies within the clinical research industry so switching to the non-profit side of the industry with FHI 360 has been a breath of fresh air and completely saved my mental health and wellbeing. After switching jobs pretty much every year the last 5 years, I can say without a doubt the onboarding at FHI 360 stands out. You can immediately tell that this place cares about their employees just as much as their mission and work of improving people's lives. Everything they do is well intentioned to help their employees succeed and not burnout. From having daily workout classes via Teams and Zoom to various employee resource groups that cater activities for a wide array of interest - this company bends over backwards for their employees well being. Not to mention the company wide mandatory "No Meeting Time" from 12-1:30pm every day where people are discouraged to set meetings during this time and are highly encouraged to step away from their desk, attend a workout class, or do whatever is going to make them feel better and their most productive. There is no pressure to overwork yourself here and the culture discourages that unlike a lot of other places that have a toxic culture when it comes to overtime and every task being a "priority". You still have work to do and it is very important work, but every manager I've met here trusts you to get your work done in your own time...you know like a functioning adult that doesn't need to be micromanaged. I have never been so thankful for a job as I am for this one! The CEO and C-level positions are very open and transparent with their employees about what is going on. They have implemented a lot of measures to ensure everyone is included and their needs are being met. They are handling the stress and uncertainty of the pandemic extremely well and putting the safety of everyone ahead of the companies needs. I honestly can't imagine why anyone would not want to work here.

Cons

If you are not a service minded individual that truly wants to have an impact on the world this may not be the place for you. Everyone here is extremely passionate about serving others and looking out for their colleagues. If you are seeking a super cut throat and fast paced environment, this is not the place for you as that mentality won't really fit in. Also to note this is a non-profit so if you are also expecting the moon and stars with pay you might want to look elsewhere, but I will vouch for the benefits being extremely great and honestly makes the pay worth it in my opinion.
