Disappointing Leadership

Pros

Great benefits and great employees. Flexible working hours are great, and I’ve never felt micromanaged while working remotely.

Cons

Like others have said, the pay is well below what you’d get anywhere else. The benefits package is supposed to make up the difference, but it is still low for as profitable as FM is year after year. I’m also really disappointed in how the company has handled the vaccine mandate. Several coworkers have lost their jobs over it and it’s been really demoralizing for me personally. I’ve always been fiercely loyal to this company because I felt like they truly valued their employees, but I honestly feel silly for it now. FM could be a great company to work for, and certainly on a local level there are many wonderful people. But I’m keeping my eye out for better opportunities elsewhere at this point.

Pros

pension, 401k match, company car

Cons

Not sure what has happened to this company.. All the reviews of how the company has horrible management, no work life balance and a toxic working environment is 100% true. When you first start here, management tries to make it seem like it's all sunshine and rainbows because of the amazing "benefits" you have. In reality, the company is a toxic working environment and people are constantly leaving the company, especially the field engineering role. The company is promoting unqualified employees to fill other positions, who have little to no experience. Employees are being promoted to managers who have no idea what they are doing and causing people to run. Managers choose favorites and gossip about everyone else at the office, as if we are back in high school. If your manager does not like you, they will bully you and do everything they can to try to get you fired or have you quit. You are constantly micromanaged and questioned about everything. You will not be able to grow within the company. Going to HR does not solve any issues because it is just another tool for management. When I told HR about how my manager harassed and bullied me, the only thing HR did was "acknowledge my feedback". The company has had two bad years in a row, and are taking it out on the field engineers. Stop promoting field engineers to positions they are not ready for. Give field engineers an incentive to stay in the field. Why do you think there are so many losses now? I would not recommend anyone to come work here. It is a hostile working environment and managers expect you to work all day, even weekends, to get your work done. This company will definitely be sued in the future for what they are doing to employees. The best thing I ever did was leave this company.

Pros

There really are some great coworkers.

Cons

The CEO is the absolute worst. He rules with an iron fist. It is his way or the highway, abd management dutifully obeys. The problem with this approach is that his way tends to ruin the company. It is not an enjoyable place to work anymore and I strongly suggest you look elsewhere.
