A work culture which breeds mediocrity and boredom
Pros
There are definitely many good things about FM Global, excellent job security, phenomenal benefits package, company wide bonus (if objectives achieved) and lovely, helpful colleagues in all departments.
Cons
Unfortunately, the environment at FM Global pushes employees to do the minimum. Yearly reviews have almost nothing to do with salary increases (which are paltry) and managers are pushed to give their employees the least possible to keep their department budgets low. No matter what employees tell their managers, all procedures stay exactly the same (meaning there is a high degree of corporate control and a focus on keeping the business exactly as is) and change and growth are not on the menu. FM will have to contend with a changing job market as people who are looking for a challenge move elsewhere, people with new ideas or fresh perspectives are not welcome here. My personal estimate is that job satisfaction is very low.
