Pros
Benefits - vacation time, sick time, plus additional PTO, fully paid maternity and paternity leave, pension plan after 5 years and 401k matching to 6%. Yearly bonuses most years. It’s very hard to get fired unless you flagrantly violate rules! Even poor performance can be improved if you are dedicated. Great response to pandemic. Whoever is complaining may be mad that there are actual consequences to their actions. Writing reviews solely based on a vaccine mandate is petulant and entitled behavior. FM is not the only company with a mandate.
Cons
Lower pay than other companies. Inclusion effort has been a little tedious with few visible results. Look at senior leadership - all old white men except one white woman. As you can see from other reviews, some people seem to think that there has been *too much* inclusion and effort toward diversity but where is the evidence of that? Some decisions seem unfair and there are not adequate explanations for being turned down for a new job. Takes a long time to move up a step in a current position. Can only negotiate for a raise when moving to a new position. Offices seem to have moved further from the “family” atmosphere they used to encourage. Many positions seem to be centralizing and losing a personal touch with the client and each other. Recent initiatives seem short-sighted as our personal relationships make the company different from bigger insurance companies.
