Pros

The cons out weigh any pros FM Global has to offer.

Cons

Everything at FM Global is driven by Ego. All the business choices that are made, projects that are prioritized, are all driven by someone in the company that needs to fill their ego cup up. For many years the company resisted any kind of digital transformation and it has led them to the point where they are far behind when it comes to working in the modern world. This has caused the digital transformation they need to go through to be rushed and they have every single aspect of the transformation happening at once. Anyone who has worked on a digital transformation knows that you need to do these things in phases and there are certain steps that need to happen before others… Not here. They are pushing it all forward at once. Not only do they have a bloated digital transformation team, they have brought in high priced consultants who are telling them that this is all possible, when in reality what they are trying to achieve right now is not possible. The consultants won’t tell them that because they are only looking to be kept on and drain the company of as much money as possible. Most of the company is rampantly sexist. There is only one woman and no people of color in the C-Suite and I think that says a lot about what the company values. You need to be in the boys club to be successful here. There are men that treat work like it’s going to hang out with their bros. If you're a woman who speaks up about being uncomfortable with these attitudes, you are deemed hard to work with. The women who do seem to advance in the company do not embody the ideals of helping other women succeed. They are often the ones taking other women down and dimming other peoples lights so theirs can appear to shine brighter. It’s cut throat amongst them and lord help you if you get in their way. You may think you are succeeding, but most of us see you for who you really are. You can be successful as a woman and help others succeed too, that doesn’t take anything away from your success. When I started at FM Global, I really enjoyed working at this company. The work was interesting. The people were kind and working together to improve the digital capabilities of the company. That has really changed over the past 2 years. I would not recommend a job here to my worst enemy. No one should have to deal with the toxic workplace that is fostered at this company.

Pros

None. Sadly. But employee wise there are some solid human beings there. Just not in the right places.

Cons

HR is absolutely not your friend. They merely act as gatekeepers, trying to keep the company from getting sued. They were once good people who have lost their way.
