Pros

Hard working site employees; CEO cares about the employees; Lots of knowledge about property management ins and outs; well established company.

Cons

Company is top heavy; Congrats are given to VPs/Directors/PMs instead of the site employees who do the bulk of the work; corporate culture gives the false impression that we work as a TEAM; Pay for site employees and "bulk" corporate employees is on the low end of the scale for the type of work completed; employees are given an unrealistic amount of work/tasks to complete over long periods of time; Quantity over quality; PMs have very little to no oversight.

Pros

Stable paycheck w/ Benefits, Flexible Mid-Level Leaders, Opportunities for Growth and Development, Good Company Culture I've been with the company for a short time and I'm coming from a completely different field and it's definitely interesting work. I like interacting with people so it's honestly right up my alley or anyone else's who has a SINCERE desire to help people. This is a "must-have" trait for anyone looking to enter this field. If not, you'll only be setting yourself up, and your team, for failure. It is definitely a team sport and the potential exists to create a good team environment. Another set of required traits is patience and perseverance. They will train you and you'll have the opportunity to do programmed training on your own (which is supposed to be paid, during and after operating hours) but sometimes it takes a while to get scheduled. If you utilize the help desk assets appropriately, it can make the process much faster. Wages seem to be pretty competitive for most entry-level positions and the opportunity exists to gain experience in property/financial management , sales (relationship building), marketing, networking, and depending how closely you work with maintenance, their job as well. Definitely a broad range of exposure.

Cons

High Attention/Short Staffing, Training vs. Work Prioritization Attrition seems to be the biggest issue. Honestly I don't think that it's all the company's fault because sometimes people just have to be realistic about wages. But the lack of continuity can be crippling. There is a lot that goes on at the property-level and it can be very demanding when you're short-staffed. It can take a long time to recover from if you don't have the right people. Additionally, training is supposed to be paid during or after hours but is constrained by the budget and what's required on a day-to-day. If the proper training isn't completed, then a new-hire will absolutely not be able to perform further crippling a property. Inadequate Staffing + Lack of Knowledge - Proper Supervision/Management = FAILURE
