Pros

Experience in working alongside federal employees. Decent benefits. Some training opportunities available. Employee Assistance Program is a great offering as well.

Cons

No ability to promote. Due to nature of contract company, a feeling of instability each time the contract ends. Should offer more training so that employees can better serve customer.

Pros

Good pay, great experience, and I get to work on some of the most interesting cases and with great people. Company has great footprint within DOJ all over the U.S. Great benefits.

Cons

No merit-based raises (although you can move up levels based on your experience, that can only take you so far). If you want to apply to a position in the government, you are still treated as if you are an outside candidate (and feel invisible to HR staff who are right in your building).
