Pros

a good work life balace and laid back atmosphere. benefits package is good. there are also a number of other perks, including paid lunch and education assistance. some of these perks are being scaled back, however, as the company gets larger and given the current economic conditions.

Cons

compensation could be better and the level of employee competence is somewhat variable. the company mostly hires people right out of college, leading to a single-track mentality and a sort of cultish attitude. that being said, if people leave the company, they are often welcomed back and management respects the new perspective that outside experience brings.

Great benefits, including free lunch. Opportunity to move up and make more money if you do well here. Job security.

Pros

The people at FactSet and the overall atmosphere is very fostering to making you excited to come to work everyday. Additionally the pay for the most part goes up every year and with hard work and developing good relationships with the people here, you have the opportunity to advance very far within the company and set up a very good resume regardless of whether you plan to stay here for 2 years, 5 years or your entire career. We also get an 8 dollar credit toward lunch Monday through Thursday. Finally, benefits, vacation days, and our insurance coverage are exceptionalhere.

Cons

Some of the work particularly on the support side that you receive in Consulting can be boring or tedious at times. Additionally, most of your pay does not come in the form of bonuses but rather in the form of straight salary. There are random bonus' for different things such as completion of each CFA level but not in general unless you are in sales or some area of product development. Additionally, it seems to be hard to distinguish yourself as an employee in the short-run and often this is reflected in consultants under two years of tenure having very similar employee reviews.
