Pros

Without question, my favorite thing about FairWarning is the people. You'll encounter some of the most intelligent, hard-working, dedicated, and fun folks around and I'm proud to know my co-workers. As the title states, there's never a dull moment. You're always learning something new, developing a new skill, exploring new options to accelerate you or your team's output. Benefits are pretty great - unlimited PTO, flex hours, healthcare, vision, dental, 401k match, disability, and more. Normally, the social events are also a huge asset for FairWarning (Field day, happy hours, costume contests, volunteering outings, team outings, even just random "thank you for being awesome" treats in the break rooms, etc.) but since we're all working remotely due to COVID-19, we've had to transition to virtual gatherings. It's not the same, but it's nice to see co-workers in a relaxed setting during the virtual happy hours, and I appreciate the creativity the People Team is using to identify ways to infuse fun and connection into our workdays. While this is a unique situation, I feel it's worth mentioning the professionalism in how the company has handled COVID-19. Employees receive frequent communications from leadership, we're not being pressured to return before it's safe, and you can tell the executive team is working hard to ensure we persevere through this time of uncertainty. Beyond that, I feel like the work we do is for a good cause - supporting the privacy and security of people and company's most sensitive data. Not to mention, we help make IT/Security/Privacy professionals' lives a lot easier!

Cons

Simultaneously both a pro and a con, there's never a dull moment. You'll likely be asked to wear many hats, and there will always be a lot on your plate. This is a good thing in many cases, because it means you have work to do and you're "essential." But a con when it comes to work/life balance. FairWarning is not a place to simply coast along. There have been a few significant leader departures over the last year, which can feel destablizing. While we have a strong team, it sometimes gives one pause when considering why they might have chosen to leave. Older Glassdoor reviews that discuss the negative "family business" nature of the company should consider that, since those reviews, there have been some really positive changes at the C-level that have essentially negated those (very valid) concerns.

Pros

The team members are truly super people. Now that the family element is gone, the favoritism and surveillance is gone. Love the direction the current leaders are taking the company. Excited about the future for the first time in a while. Unlimited PTO just released. Formal review and development plans in place foor the first time. Passionate people now heading both business lines. I feel my team has true support to deliver great services and products. new remote work policy is outstanding as I have a long commute. Trust in employees now feels sincere and not forced like before. Hate to say it, but I think the family leadership hit its limit and this is a positive now.

Cons

still feeling out new leaders, but encouraging so far. Not sure if our CEO is permanent or not.
