A Company with a Vision

Pros

I work at Faithlife because people here generally buy into the mission, and the mission is something I care about: using technology to equip the church to grow in the light of the Bible. I think we're making a direct, positive impact on the church, and I like the CEO's vision for new ways in which we can do this. The people here are great. The annual events (Summer and Christmas parties) are really special for me and my family. I used to work at a company where we never knew what the CEO was thinking until a decision was handed down. I love working at a place where you can Ask Bob Anything, and he is super pro-active about communicating his vision.

Cons

I suppose I would put a little more emphasis on good-looking, cutting-edge website design; and I occasionally think a particular MVP (Minimum Viable Product) is being launched before it really is viable.

Thanks for quoting the mission statement! It's great to be embracing that together as a team. Our MVPs do sometimes challenge our 'Elegance' value... but they deliver on 'Shipping'! Those values are often in conflict. I want Sites to be Awesome (another value!) too, and while we'll let people see it 'too early' I believe it will get lots of attention and improvement in the first year. We'll keep working on the right balance.

Pros

Faithlife is an excellent, forward-thinking environment that is constantly evolving. In consistency with our tech-savvy nature as a business, we are also staying ahead of the curve as it relates to our policies, resources, equipment, and staffing. It is truly a great place to work.

Cons

As an outside sales staff member, I wish that there were more opportunities to connect with those in the home office face to face. This just isn't possible. However, December is always a great time to do this. I have been greatly impressed with the level of connectivity that has been maintained since meeting many of the team at our annual Winter Training.

Thanks for being part of our team! I know it is harder to stay connected when you don't work at headquarters, and I appreciate the reminder to keep working on our support for remote employees.

Pros

Fantastic entrepreneurial environment to try new things, propose new projects.

Cons

Lack of interdepartmental support/cooperation is the greatest detriment to success, unclear how much current restructuring efforts will change existing structural memory.
