      Pros

      None to speak of. It's a job but rates lower than similar positions in other companies.

      Cons

      No real protocol. There are more gray areas in what you can and can't do than any normal hospital nurse has ever seen. They just expect you to complete the call one way or another and good luck refusing a dangerous call. Pay much less than hospital. Danger to license. High stress.

      Pros

      Better pay than most private ambulance companies.

      Cons

      Poor management, mandatory overtime shifts, always short-staffed, only two medics can take vacation at the same time so vacations are not only hard to come by, but often get “forgotten” after they’ve been approved and management tried to mandatory you to work on your vacation days (myself and one other employer were told by management to work on our WEDDING days!)
