Pros

Everyone above me was always supportive and wanting my best, always very open, among change they tried their best to be transparent and support changes.

Cons

That said, management shifted three times for me while I was there in one year. In this position, that does make it difficult to keep priorities aligned.

At a tipping point

Pros

The people at Farm Journal are wonderful. The company has a lot going for it and has both a legacy and a future under the right leadership.

Cons

Farm Journal is currently at a very critical tipping point. The rapid change has not been managed well and has created mass chaos. New employees are just as unhappy as tenured employees and morale is very low. The company has so many new people and layers that no one is interested in problem solving, but rather finger pointing, CYA and burying their heads in the sand that there are real problems. It seems the new leaders making decisions do not really understand what the company does so they are trying to turn the company into what they already know, and through the process are not listening to the employees who care about the company, leaving them feeling demotivated and looking for other opportunities.

Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s truly inspiring to see the effort so many team members across the organization put in to build and nurture our culture, especially in a mostly virtual environment. It can be challenging, but moments like this make it all worthwhile. We really appreciate you taking the time to let us know.
