Pros

Great staff. You are entrusted with a high level of responsibility, but with that comes professional growth and opportunity. Disciplinary groups are fairly small so there is a strong team environment with each person having influence on the practice and on success of group. Recently formed structural team in Denver office shows great promise and is growing both in terms of staff and size of projects and focused on producing quality work. Other structural teams within company are also made up of quality staff. Good project variety and exposure to other design disciplines. Competitive salary compared to other firms in Denver metro.

Cons

When workload stacks up sometimes overtime is required to meet deadlines due to smaller size of groups. This has more to do with nature of industry than Farnsworth, but does occasionally happen. Generally work-life balance is reasonable. Bonuses not always great but higher salary makes up for it.

Pros

Farnsworth offers a wide range of experience and projects, keeping the workplace dynamic. It's size is the perfect blend of small enough to not get lost, but large enough to get plenty of opportunities for growth. In some locations, the flexible schedule helps greatly for those with families. There are also amazing people I truly enjoy working with - in many ways we are a family. Plenty of laughter and jokes.

Cons

The biggest downfall is the amount of overtime that is expected. While this is offset somewhat by allowing for flexible time, it is still a real problem for work/life balance. I cannot say whether this is any worse than other comparable firms.
