Pros

Freedom to work at your own pace. Decent compensation on commission. It lets you get creative and design cool things with your clients. Your clients are from any given industry which lets you build connections across all fields. Christmas bonus Minimal health insurance 2 weeks vacation after 2 years. Very flexible if you need to leave earlu or take day off. You will still get paid.

Cons

Base pay is low. You have to really sell to make a good living. You have to supply your own car and laptop. They will compensate for miles but you have to track them. Huge lack of employee appreciation. No sales structure or sales meetings. You are on your own to fall or rise by yourself. No health insurance for family. Zero dental or vision No 401k

Pros

Regular work week, Weekends off. Good training and resources available.

Cons

Threshold before receiving commision along with monthly sales goals are unrealistic for the average sign sale requested by customers. Too much project management to complete the sale falls on the Outside Sales Rep. Proofing process should be a one day turnaround but almost never follows that edict.

Pros

- Small atmosphere so you have good relationships with all your coworkers - it’s easier to communicate with less people - laid back - opportunity to learn different areas in the shop (production, customer service, etc.) - when hired I was given the impression that there would be opportunities for advancement, bonuses and pay raises

Cons

- although having a smaller staff should make it easier to communicate, that communication is lacking in the franchise where I work - the owner at this franchise sets unattainable goals which makes bonuses impossible - I’ve worked in the same position for 4 years, have had only two raises, the first was great, but the second came after getting demoted from salary to hourly (maybe to make the demotion sting a little less??)
