When the owner isn't there everything runs smoothly and easily

Everything else. The moment the owner turns up, moral tanks. She is not a good business owner, not a nice person to work for, know, deal with. Every time an employee leaves, for whatever reason, she drags her feet on getting them their last paycheque. To the tune of weeks after the legally required timeframe. As she will not hire an adequate staff, and goes on 2 week vacations seemingly every 6 weeks, you are expected to do ALL jobs, including sales and installation. If work falls behind because of this, you are held to blame. She does not provide proper training or support. Equipment/software is all old/outdated, in some instance by greater than 15yrs. You are expected to put out pristine work with the bare minimum of resources.
