Work and life balance always tough with a trucking job

Pros

I would say for a city driver hourly rate is 34.60 an hour and you do get overtime. Basically the money is good 80 to 90,000 a year with overtime but basically that’s been my income for the last 8 to 9 years..

Cons

Long hours, never know when you’re gonna get home, start times change every 3 to 4 months. The benefits keep on getting more expensive and less almost every year. Family life is tough with this job.

Pros

Learn a lot, good benefits and salary. Opportunities for growth. Working with a very well known company. Possibility to work hybrid (remote and the office) depending on the position.

Cons

Not necessarily a con, but something to consider. Depending on your position, because of the nature of the job, you may not have options for remote work. Particularly for field positions, such as drivers and handlers. Not necessarily a con if you like being on the field.
