Pros

There are lots of promotion opportunities as well as different branches within FedEx Office to move to. Can relocate anywhere in the U.S. without to much trouble.

Cons

Can be very stressful. There is little to no feedback from management on job performance. Training for new hire employees does not scratch the surface of what needs to be known to work in the store. Pay is low in store for the amount of knowledge needed to work in most positions.

Pros

If you want to be a robot and not think for yourself and don't question all the micro managemnet you can be promoted very easily.

Cons

Corporate office micro manages to the extreme. They even tell us where we should put our staplers and pens. We are not even allowed to have a pen and a pad of paper next to the phone. Their 'Clean and Bright' program is ridiculous. Excitement for the company seems to be forced upon you and Sr. management might seem nice on the surface, but they are not genuine. You are forced to attend monthly meetings that do not help you in your actual job whatsoever. - complete waste of time! It seems like District managers work against you. They want to see sales increase, but somehow we never see any of the bonuses they like to tout to prospective employees. You can loose a bonus based on ONE customer survey or one or two bad marks on an audit. It could be something as simple as not having the packing tape in its correct spot - it is the 'Clean and Bright' policy after all. The constant change is stressful. They make changes, but then reverse their decisions. They expect you to be a shipping specialist, signs and graphics specialist, and sales, but don't expect any type of pay increase even though your responsibilties increase and the training is horrible.

Pros

Management positions pay well. There is ample opportunity to earn a decent living for your family between the salary and the bonuses. Bonuses pay very well.

Cons

Constant change is not always bad, but when the changes consistenty reverse direction it creates a very confusing environment. There is a total lack of respect for work / life balance. Annual pay increases are in the 2-3% range for most positions. Hourly team members don't get paid that well, so make sure to negotiate a high pay rate when you first get hired, because you will not make it up later. There is a lot of room in the salary scale for negotiation.
