Slightly underpaid for the work performed.
Inconsistent performance and job duty expectations. Unfair metrics that determine variable compensation. For example, a client can verbally abuse a rep so bad that Fidelity will then correctly fire the client and make them close their accounts. Despite this, the rep is still penalized for the negative survey that client inevitably left.
Soulless in-office experience for a remote job(talking to people on the phone). In-office experience detracts from ability to get work done via disruption from communal work spaces, penalized for inadequate equipment that is provided by company (not allowed to have your own desk or leave anything overnight, so you may unexpectedly not have a desk where you thought in the morning and have to bounce between multiple other desks until you can find one with all of the adequate equipment, you are then penalized for this time which is not considered by management).
Constantly shifting rules, procedures, and expectations, at time with no communication to associates. You only then find out about the new procedure retroactively after you are penalized for not knowing new processes that were not announced. One-sided process for any customer complaints, disputes, or procedural errors. Ie: there is no ability as an associate to dispute any error they arbitarily may deem to have been attributed to you, sometimes being penalized for things that are not in your job responsibilities and training, things that the client agreed to but then later changed their mind, things that are functionally impossible and are explicitly stated as such in the employee procure portal, yet the review team arbitrarily decides should have still happened somehow. All of this to appease the customer due to their ultra-conservative nature (even for a financial services company). Unequal treatment towards customers based on amount of assets and how much money they are making the company. Woefully misguided and inept career development resources, if you work in brokerage client services, you generally will not be seriously considered for roles in any other business unit, and overlooked for less qualified canditates. Hirings are based on the personal favorites that the hiring managers know, and not any sort of merit-based approach.
Disrespecful communications in the application process as well, you might match the job description, skills and requirements precisely. But they will send an automated rejection email (saying that you are unqualified) to you without an earnest review of your resume, an interview, or even a conversation. Requests to connect with hiring managers for feedback are scoffed at or even blatantly ignored due to your current role.
