Good work life balance

Pros

The work life balance is the best advantage as many people have families and other time commitments. It's also a very stable company as a part of Fidelity Investments

Cons

The main issue is that this company is in a commoditized space that is hard to differentiate. The strategy is very generic so long term growth plans are unclear

Pros

- the pay is really high compared to the average job in this city - they are willing to let people in the IT field to learn and hone their skill without any prior experience - they are almost always offering overtime - when starting out they provide a lot of support

Cons

the benefits are literally the worst - no holiday pay - have to work holidays unless you want to take a pay hit (they are open 24/7/365) - after a while of working with the company you mostly get left to your own devices to figure out unknown issues - 401k is forced upon you with no employer match - health care is below par and provides minimal information as to what care provider you can use and so once you sign up with it you are pigeon holed into what the insurance covers which boils down to UNM hospital in this city (literally the worst option) - they incentivize their money making associates (whom you are trying help troubleshoot the issues they are having with their computers/phones and/or website or tools/programs) to act however they want with no repercussion. meaning: they can demean you, belittle you, ignore your advise, be passive aggressive and almost everything under the sun other than curse at you. - they have a lopsided rating system for your work quality. meaning: those same associates that can act as they please can proceed to black mark you despite being respectful and trying to resolve their issue to the best of your abilities - almost every tool even on the tech's side is broken in some way shape or form - you have to use far to many tools for your work - they have rigorous metrics to meet to move to a permanent position for Fidelity itself - they continue to contribute more requirements for those metrics overtime demanding more work in the same framework - their source for knowledge or issues is poorly designed for searching, more often then not listen items that have nothing to do with the issue or nothing at all
