Pros

When working at Fifth Third, you may be recognized as working for a well-known, possibly well-respected company in the cincinnati area. That is, to people who have never worked at Fifth Third before.

Cons

Typical banking cultural - ultra conservative and very stifling. As a teller, be prepared to get grief if you ever need any time off. You will also be treated as a peon. Micro-managment - it is as if your are apart of some initiation ritual where you treat everyone below you in the bureaucratic hierarchy as poorly as possible. Sales is everything - regardless of your position you are expected to sell, sell, sell. Management is never satisfied with the numbers and always expects you to do better than the year before.

Pros

Good place to get started with your career, banking centers provide a good overview of the financial services field. Banking centers also provide you with experience in the customer services aspect of financial services.

Cons

Not a whole lot of training provided for the sales aspect of the financial services, most training is focused on performing financial transactions. Employee morale could be higher, especially in the individual banking centers. I notice a higher morale at the main office in Toledo, probably because the positions there are higher paying, higher profile positions.
