Pros

good benefits package, sound banking institution. Training is paid for and mileage is reimbursed which is a plus. The bank is doing well in light of economic problems. Conservative banking habits ensures the integrity and survival of this bank in the long term.

Cons

Sometimes a little disorganized and maybe a little outdated in terms of modern banking but this overall helps in terms of security.

Pros

One of the biggest regional banks, depending on your geographic location, Fifth Third can be an option for prospective employees wanting to stay in certain areas. The Fifth Third footprint includes Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, W. Virginia, Tennessee, and Florida.

Cons

Harsh corporate climate with a well established good ole' boy network. If you are accepted in, you will promote rapidly. Dedication is measured by how many hours you work each day, not necessarily your contribution.

Pros

Good base pay and they are always hiring.

Cons

High stress and lack of support and resources to reach sales goals. Incredibly high turnover. I have been at my branch which is fully staffed at 5 employees for a year and a half. In that time I have gone through three managers, two customer service managers, and five tellers. In addition, while each employee is doing their primary job and covering for other vacant positions we are expected to meet the same sales quotas as when we are fully staffed. The sales goals are not seasonally adjusted. At my branch the second and third quarters are good because of foot traffic. In the first and fourth quarters we struggle to reach minimum goals as foot traffic grinds to a halt.
