Feels like you've hit a dead end

aspects of the position are not difficult, it's essentially the same duties every day
Cons
the job entails a lot of little pieces that can be quite tedious, not difficult necessarily but definitely a bit stressful at times. The department itself is just absolutely going downhill rapidly. What used to be employees treated with respect and at least at a "highschool" level have "graduated" to kindergarten and now we are at a preschool level. No phones, a flex schedule that is NOT flexible, we get a whopping 6 minutes (increased this year by 1 minute so you have time to restart your computers and install updates because that is feasible?) if you don't get in by say, 7:06AM you have to wait until 7:30, can't make that time frame? Sorry, You've got to wait until 8AM but if you don't clock in by 9am you get an occurrence which tallies up into a corrective and then a write up extremely quickly. There is no overtime, they do not allow making up any of your time even in emergency situations and they are not flexible with their employees but they (management) can get away with pretty much anything they would like to. Unless you're one of the employees who are extremely close to at least 1 of the managers here, then you have pretty much free reign of the place. They use you to their benefit and then if you slip once they trash you like you're scum of the earth. overall it's less the job that is awful than it is specifically the department I work in. I would be weary of anything in this specific department due to the toxic work environment. I've worked in this department alone for over 8 years and it's just gotten really bad. it does also depend on your tolerance for certain kinds of things as well so, approach with caution.
