Pros

Benefits are alright Bank holidays are awesome (Unless you work for the call center (double pay), or at a bank mart (floating holidays)

Cons

The selling culture is very shady and can sometimes feel unethical (Within the compensation structure with the bank, loans and credit cards give the highest availability of points) The bank's overdraft policy is very wrong (The process the debits before the credits, so for example if you got your direct deposit but fifth third took out the days ACH's before that, you would be charged the 37 bucks per overdraft no matter if a hour later your account is brought to positive) Any report of ethic violations is met with resistance Pay is very low within retail and the call center environments There is no empathy within the positions. I never had a manager who asked about my day or how things were going at home. Given that Fifth Third markets itself as a "community" bank this seemed pretty weird. There is no support for anything relating to mental health - they will ignore accomodations supported by your doctor.

Pros

Pay was not bad for a teller.

Cons

Almost impossible to get Full time, micromanagement on daily basis, very stressful work environment, tellers are on teller line all day without breaks by their selves with no one willing to help. They expect you to not make mistakes- but do not take any accountability for short staff or stressful environments. At fifth third; The tellers do most of the work while the managers sit around on their phones or call in. Bankers rarely help- even though they are supposed to. I was verbally and more harassed by management due to power issues.

Pros

- Competitive Hourly Wage - Multiple incentive opportunities throughout the year - Extensive training - Great teamwork

Cons

This job specifically is for someone that can manage multiple things at one and loves to be busy. You will get pulled in multiple directions and you can be successful in doing so, but you have to be willing to work hard.
