Pros

- Great team - everybody was working hard but not excessively so (work-life balance was very valued) - Short shipping cycle - new features were shipped every week and had direct impact on the product

Cons

- Feedback was seriously lacking - since there was no "direct" hierarchy in place, it was often tough to get good feedback on your work - Office politics - since there is no transparent feedback process, it was unclear how promotions are taking place, and those were seemingly random - Intransparent hiring policies - seemed to gear mostly towards ensuring some kind of diversity (whatever definition that entails) and not actual technical skill - Leadership - CEO doesn't have good skills to actually manage and provide a direction for the company, there doesn't seem to be a common goal

Pros

- The people are by far the highest quality out of people from any company I've worked with. On average the technical strength is significantly better than e.g. Google engineers, and the sheer empathy, understanding, and friendliness of people is somewhat unmatched at any other company. - Work/life balance outstanding for a startup. No pressure to work extra hours - Management is very experienced and empathetic - Culture is extremely inclusive and diverse - feels like management genuinely cares about making people feel welcome and included with their coworkers - Work is extremely high-impact: work feels like it is affecting the company as a whole - Personal growth rate very fast. Because of the amount of ownership you get, you naturally pick up skills from everywhere in the company - Very little politics and bureaucracy due to the size of the company. Very low overhead to making a genuine impact - Company trajectory is very positive, feels like we are becoming the leader in the UI/UX design software market space

Cons

- Work is somewhat less structured than you would get at a large company (think less meetings/presentations and more informal 1:1 chats) - Product has a high level of technical complexity - good or bad depending on what you're looking for - It is still a pre-IPO smaller company, so stock compensation will be more volatile (higher risk/higher reward than a larger company)

Pros

- The team is really supportive. People care about creating a warm, inclusive, culture and I've learned a ton from my coworkers here. - We have a mature approach to engineering. We work hard to build stable, well-planned software. This lets us go home at a reasonable hour and not constantly battle fires.

Cons

- Because of our size, many product decisions fall on individual engineers and designers. This is healthy in the sense that it gives you a sense of impact, but it also means that you have to be good at handling ambiguity in your day-to-day work.
