Pros

If busy commission can be good Fairly relaxed depending on mgmt Better than many retail stores You get to see the newest styles before anyone else

Cons

They have no DC so you spend a lot of time doing "send-sales" If it is not busy the pay is super weak They changed the pay and gave us less of an incentive to "up-sale" on particular products, yet they still get upset whenever you do not make an effort to sell those products You have to deal with a very shady group of individuals that have an infatuation with "retro" shoes, and they can be very intimidating and aggressive if they are not pleased with the situation

Pros

Managers were never really to strict about promptness. Quite often, I'd clock in maybe 5 minutes late and I'd never get written up. For the most part they just need someone to be available for the majority of the shift. Extra cash i used to put gas in my car and pay an occasional bill here and there. Retail experience.

Cons

•Commission based pay; 1.5% on everything you sell. •Your check will NEVER be more than $400. •Maximum 6 hour shifts, and sometimes a 4 hour shifts. Who has time for that?! •Prime example of a job that just makes the rich, richer. •They ask so much of you, but the payoff is close to nothing. •You must meet damn near impossible sales goals every single day. Your best is never, ever good enough. •If you don't sell like the managers want you to, they'll cut your hours. Eventually, you'll be off the schedule. They won't even tell you. From 4 days a week to 1 day a week. •Dealing with Assistant Managers whose life goal is to one day take over a Finish Line store. (insert sarcasm here) •You're insane if you think you can survive with Finish Line as your main source of income. •Say you sell $3,000 worth of merchandise. You're feeling good because your numbers are up...now do that again tomorrow, and the next day...Numbers matter, but at the same time, they don't. If you can't keep it up, they let you go. •Try to avoid working in retail if you can.
